History

Our zeitgeist is RETRO: Fashion history is always there, just under the surface. Everything old is new again.

Circa Sixty Three draws inspiration from the modern classics of the 20th century. The vivid colors and radical geometric shapes of the 1960s are literally recycled in our jewelry. In late 2008 Circa Sixty Three purchased over eight tons of vintage Lucite dead stock. The dead stock includes loose beads, jewelry parts, and bangles that were made in Providence, Rhode Island throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s.

Circa Sixty Three also offers a wide range of vintage shoes from the estate of designer Joseph LaRose of Florida. LaRose shoes can be found in the private collections of important designers all over the world.

Circa Sixty Three recently returned to the Washington DC Metro area from Jacksonville Florida. All the jewelry is made by hand at the Hyattsville, MD studio.
